Miro modo

Since the 19th century, Victoria Houses have been erected in many botanical gardens to present the giant water lilies, named after the Queen of England, to the public.

The circular leaves can reach a diameter of almost two metres and carry quite a bit of weight due to a network of spiny and air-filled ribs on the underside. For two nights, the special flowers bloom, changing colour from white to pink and attracting beetles for pollination with warmth and a beguiling scent. Evalie Wagner's installation casts iridescent light reflections on flora, water and glass. A poetic conundrum between construction and nature, suspended between static and change, which "miraculously" captivates.
